| DOWMAN IMPORTS LTD was established
in 1988 to supply high quality soft toys to the zoo and leisure trade.
Our aim is to design and create soft toys using the latest techniques
and materials and constantly develop new methods of manufacture to
enhance the appeal of our products while offering excellent value
for money. |

| We have built a reputation with our
customers for the extensive variety of animals we produce, ranging
from widely recognised species to some of the more obscure animals
from the wide world of nature. We have always tried to raise the public
awareness of some of the less well known and sometimes endangered
species and have worked with some zoos in designing and supplying
particular kinds of animals to support their own conservation programs. |

| DELIVERIES AND SERVICE. We try to keep our entire range in stock at all times, although this is not always possible, but we do aim to fulfil at least ninety five percent of our orders within forty eight hours. We believe that our customers appreciate a quick response to their needs and our friendly office staff always do their best to satisfy these requirements efficiently. Our customers also appreciate our return rate of less than 0.04 percent. |

| Purpose built for the manufacture
of soft toys and associated products the factory has a large storage
area for materials and finished product. The manufacturing area is
divided into sections for the preparation of materials, sewing, eye
and accessory fixing, stuffing, spraying, quality control and finally
packing for transit. Manufacturing has been set up so that if necessary
we can produce relatively low production quantities whilst still maintaining
competitive pricing. We have the capacity to operate up to 100 sewing
machines which equates to 2 x 40 ft HiQ containers per week |

| The offices within the factory compound include
a design department, sample department and three large showrooms,
with the recent addition of a purpose built customer meeting area
and restaurant. Naturally our customers are most welcome to visit
by prior appointment. |

| ETHICAL AND FAIRLY TRADED POLICY DOWMAN IMPORTS LTD has always operated a strict ethical policy and a belief in fairly traded methods with the people and countries of manufacture, we have always refused to trade with any factory which cannot prove that it operates to these standards. Building our own factory gave us the opportunity to surpass even our own high standards. We have been able to provide spacious, light and air-conditioned working areas as well as comfortable living conditions for the staff including dormitories and shower rooms (one shower for every five people), and a well equipped kitchen and eating area with television. Unique from virtually all other factories in China, we have also taken the trouble to build a reading room and a games and leisure room including a badminton court. The whole complex has been built with a view to making it a pleasant place to be, it is always kept meticulously clean and tidy and has planted gardens in all available outside spaces and features a water fountain and pond with goldfish. We have found that by treating our staff well, paying good salaries and offering bonus schemes we are rewarded by commitment, loyalty and certainly quality workmanship. The factory has such a good reputation that we constantly have a long list of people waiting to work for us. |
